About Ayurveda
Ancient wisdom for the modern world
Ayurveda, has roots in India and is recorded in texts more than 3,000 years ago. The name Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit words 'ayur' (life) and 'veda' (science or knowledge).
This science of life empowers each person to work with their natural constitution (prakriti) to find out their imbalances (vikruti).
Ayurveda guides lifestyle, nutrition and natural therapies to regain a balance between the body, mind, spirit and
nature.

More and more of Ayurveda's practices are being backed by modern research and increasingly people are investing in managing their own health. Alongside conventional Western medicine many traditional health practices, such as Ayurveda, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, and homeopathy play an important part in managing individual health. Ayurveda can have positive effects when used as a complementary therapy in combination with standard, conventional medical care.
